Care Community

Parents who foster or adopt need to know they’ll be well-supported when a child arrives in their home. Foster children, as well as adopted children, have unique needs and require intentional focus from their new parents. Supporting these families in practical, hands-on ways provides a healthier context for a child’s transition into their new home.  A Care Community provides this support through a group of caring volunteers who as an engineered team will:

  • Bring weekly meals
  • Supply or source practical needs – eg. bunk beds, strollers, carseats, clothing…
  • Transport children to appointments
  • Mentor children
  • Coordinate volunteers for a foster family
  • Become trained to provide respite care
